West Chilcotin Search and Rescue
Serving that area of the Chilcotin from Heckman Pass beyond Anahim Lake in the West  and to the East beyond Alexis Creek to Sheep Creek Bridge.

Our mandate is to provide a service to the citizens and visitors of the Chilcotin area by conducting searches for lost or missing persons, rescuing trapped and / or injured persons, doing evidence searches and assisting at any community emergency that may arise when requested to do so by the RCMP or other PEP (Provincial Emergency Program) affiliated authority.

Our volunteers are trained emergency responders knowledgeable of land navigation, radio communication, survival and basic emergency care.

WCSAR is a non-profit society receiving support from private donors, foundations and corporate sponsors. 
Volunteers contribute their own time.



There are many supplies consumed to keep an organization running;
If you can donate any of these items we will put them to good use!

Office supplies:
Paper, pens, pencils, staplers, highlighters or markers, scissors, etc


Computer equipment:

inkjet cartridges, GPS units, USB cables,

Search team support supplies:
Outdoor gear and water gear, bottled water, COFFEE!, paper plates, plastic utensils, cups for hot beverages, paper towels and dishwashing soap, folding tables and chairs

Miscellaneous Items:
Generator, VHF radio equipment and chargers, water rescue throw bags, basic first aid supplies, a really large tent shelter, first responder kit or other first aid supplies, pelican case or other waterproof case

Rope Rescue Gear:
tubular webbing anchors, rescue ropes, prussic ropes, pulleys, rescue harness, brake rack, master attachment point, locking carabiners, bear claw attachment, brake bar descender, scoop stretcher, bridle, cervical collar, blankets
